how to iron on rhinestones

In the photo a rhinestone name that I madIn the photo a rhinestone name that I made and applied to a baby onesie, the rhinestones used are the Swarovski crystals (they have no comparison for brilliance).

If you have never used iron-on rhinestones before, this is a short guide on how to apply them.

The thermoadhesive rhinestones can be hot applied on fabric, knitwear and on many porous materials; for single rhinestones you can use the applicator, an electric tool with metal tips (available in different sizes according to the size of the rhinestones) that heat the glue on the rhinestones in 5-6 seconds.

If, on the other hand, they are on heat-resistant adhesive paper (there are many ready-made rhinestone drawings or writings on these maps and if you do not find them you can request them from the contact form of the website or via email), the rhinestones can be applied quickly with an iron .

You start by removing the protective film of the design (the white one), attach the adhesive paper to the fabric, where you want to have the design, put a handkerchief of light cloth or baking paper on top to protect the garment, then place the iron on it at very high temperature (cotton) for at least 15-20 seconds for 2 or 3 mm rhinestones (increase a few seconds for larger rhinestones); generally I calculate 5 seconds for each millimeter of the rhinestone measurement: 2 mm 10 sec. 3 mm 15 sec. etc ... plus 5 seconds to be sure that the glue is well melted, but remember that the iron must already have reached temperature.

As soon as you have removed the iron, apply a little pressure with your hand, using a handkerchief or similar (so as not to burn yourself as the point where the iron is placed is still hot), so the glue will soak well into the fabric, especially if the writing or drawing is composed with rhinestones of different sizes; wait a few seconds for the glue to cool then remove the adhesive sheet.e and applied to a baby onesie, the rhinestones used are the Swarovski crystals (they have no comparison for brilliance).
