renew a ruined bikini

It can happen that in a bikini the laces get damaged because the rubber inside dries up. In my bikini, beige with black trim and laces, the rubber of the laces had been damaged and this had also stained the beige jersey.

To recover the costume, in which the fabric was still in good condition, I made a drastic cut of the black trims. It is a bikini in double fabric with the top slightly padded so after the cut I stitched the two fabrics together. I pinned the various parts on the black elastic jersey, cut leaving 2 cm of margin and finally sewed the jersey to the internal parts of the bikini, applied some ties made with strips of the black jersey and cut out the excess fabric.

Instead of redoing the above as it was previously I rotated the triangles so that the base (the one where the seam that gives the covessity to the costume is) is now on the outside (now it is vertical and parallel to the arms). I applied two short laces in the center and two, very long, at the top; these laces cross behind the back, pass through the buttonholes, which I made in the outer corners of the triangles, and then tie in the center of the back.

Last decorative touch a row of 4 mm Swarovski rhinestones (ss16) in black diamond color. Note: I apologize for the dark and consequently blurry photos ... the flash from the camera has requested your vacation period.
