These crochet roses are very versatile. A group of roses and a few leaves can already be an effective decoration. Made with thick and brightly colored thread for decoration on witty accessories or for the decorations of hair clips or clothing for girls. With thin yarn and soft colors they can be applied as a decoration on elegant clothing or accessories.
The scheme is simple and can be varied according to your taste: with the low point instead of the high point, the inner circle is smaller and the rose more closed, fewer initial chains for not having the hole in the center .... Once you've learned a pattern, it's up to you to try out the possible variations.
- We start with 8 chains closed in a circle;
- 12 DC are worked (high stitches) and closed with an MBSS (very low stitch);
- an initial chain replaces the MB plus other 4 chains and an MB on the third base buttonhole, it is repeated until there are 6 arches, then the MB go one every two MA of the previous round;
- 1 SC, 1 HDC, 1 DC, again 1 HDC, 1 MB must be worked on each bow;
- for the second round of petals work a MB and 5 chains, the MB are hooked on the previous SC and the arches go on the back of the first round of petals;
- for the second round of petals on the arches you need to knit 1 SC, 1 HDC, 1 DC, 1 TC, and again 1 DC, 1 HDC, 1 SC;
- at this point you can stop the thread and close the work or continue with another round of petals by increasing the chains of the bow by 1 and inserting another TC or a QC in the working of the stitches if you prefer the petal more rounded or more pointed.
