To decorate wooden furniture or objects made of plastic, metal or other materials where it is not possible to apply them by heat, we must resort to the use of glue.
It is a work of patience but it is not difficult.
There are at least two different methods to do this work, one with the rhinestone design already created on an adhesive film, the other with the design on a sheet of paper to be transferred to the object.
Here is a summary of the materials we need, then you can see the procedure in the video. It is also good to remember that the surface must be cleaned of dust or grease (fingerprints, etc.).
For the first method: slow drying two-component epoxy glue (alternatively specific glue for the type of surface and / or for gluing rhinestones, classic cyanacrylate, attack so to speak, not good because it dulls the rhinestones), if the design is small you can also use a faster glue or you can divide the design into several parts (evaluate this choice according to your needs of time), a wooden toothpick, and of course the film with the rhinestone design that we have to apply.
Pay attention to the type of film of the rhinestones, there is a type of film that has very strong glue, this could ruin the painting or the patina of your object; to understand if the glue is not too strong try to place a corner on a sheet of paper, if it comes off easily it is fine, if the paper tears and remains attached the glue is too strong, if you want to use the drawing of that map cover with paper (or other methods that may come to mind) the parts where there is no drawing and use repositionable tape to attach it to the object, if you work on a horizontal plane (and I recommend it anyway) you can leave it even without scotch tape.
For the second method: tracing paper, sheet on which the design we want to make is printed, repositionable adhesive tape, pencil, glue (as we have seen before) and wooden toothpick, another toothpick on whose tip we will apply wax (alternatively tweezers) and of course rhinestones in colors and sizes suitable for your design.
