The first question I am asked by customers who purchase an application of hot-melt-in-the-nail studs or rhinestones is 'how do they apply?' but there is another question that I am asked, even if less frequent, and it is 'how do you wash t-shirts or garments with applied rhinestones?'.

I answer with a few simple instructions. Garments with rhinestones can be washed both by hand and in the washing machine, the important thing is to avoid bleach (or aggressive detergents) and dry cleaning with perchlorethylene. In the washing machine, wash inside out, or by placing the garment inside a fabric bag or pillowcase, thus avoiding friction with metal or rigid parts of other garments. It is advisable not to exceed the temperature of 40 °, the exceptions must be evaluated according to the state of the application and the possible wear of the fabric. Personally I think washing in the washing machine is preferable to hand washing, but if the latter is necessary, avoid rubbing the garment too much. It can be easily ironed inside out or straight, with or without steam, and if over time or for various reasons the grip on the fabric begins to loosen, you can reactivate the glue by holding the iron still over the rhinestones, it will melt and solidify, even if it will not be quite like the first application and it cannot be repeated forever. If the rhinestones come off? Well, over time it is certainly possible that some rhinestones come off and if we want to remedy this we can place loose rhinestones in the points where they are missing; to facilitate this operation, use heat-resistant adhesive film (you can also keep aside that of the writing or drawing you have applied, keeping it with the protective paper attached). One last recommendation .. for a good duration of your decoration, follow my application instructions carefully.
