alcune palline di feltro colorate
I've seen some guides and videos on how to make felt balls, but I haven't seen the method I use, so I decided to prepare my own video and write this guide.
The wool to be used must be fine and soft like merino, which has a very soft touch and the advantage of not itching in contact with the skin, considering that often the felt balls are used to create costume jewelery, it is the ideal wool.
What we need: a saucepan to heat the water, 2 bowls, a colander, scissors, liquid soap, a towel, and of course carded merino wool in the colors of your choice.
In the video there are few and essential captions and there is no audio so I will summarize here some tricks that are not inferred from the video.
The fundamental step, and also the most delicate, is when we begin to rotate our wool dumpling; we must use a lot of lightness in the hands and not crush; after checking that no cracks have formed in the ball we can start spinning with more force and applying pressure with the fingers. If we notice cracks, remove them by picking the wool, if the wool is already compact and cannot be removed, throw the wool back into the water and try to break up the ball to reuse the wool.
I hope the video is quite explanatory, if you have any questions or criticisms you can write to me or post a comment.
